A Summary of the Most Common Online Scams
Data Entry and Type at Home “Jobs”
These sites promise the world for simply “filling out forms” or otherwise “submitting ads”. The “forms” they speak of are Pay Per Click advertising. This method of marketing is VERY difficult to learn and expensive during the learning process; the scam site fails to mention that of course.
Basically, the data entry site is simply taking your money and sending you to an affiliate network site like ClickBank or PayDotCom. They give you some basic instructions which you could have gotten from the affiliate networks themselves.
ClickBank and PayDotCom are free to join by anyone. The data entry sites imply they are offering this access only if you pay their “membership fee”. The people who run these scams are no better than common thieves.
Online Surveys
There are very few “online surveys” which pay anyone to fill them out. The ones that are legitimate, ARE NOT involved with these sites! Besides, most of the legitimate surveys only offer a possible drawing for a prize and not cash. No one is going to pay you $30 to $40 to simply fill out a survey! If you want to find the legitimate ones online who pay a little, do so via the search engines. Do not pay anyone for access to them. They are listed free in the search engines if you can find them. These sites are right up there with the data entry sites on the scam meter.
Rebate Processing
Wow, this is a bad one. They tell you that they have companies “NEEDING” your help processing all their rebates. Yeah right.
What they really do after you pay them is send you a glorified method of doing affiliate marketing with a twist added for offering “rebates” of your own when people buy your affiliate products. Anyone can join an affiliate network for free without paying these guys. Stay away from them!
Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)
Although many of these are not officially “scams” one has to be very careful when believing the claims they make. Just “getting a few people to sign up under you” will NOT make much money. Although you won’t make much, when the people above you get you and hundreds of others just like you to join, they are the ones making the big bucks! Be very wary of them wanting you to buy product to keep as inventory. That is how the ones above you make money…not you!
Getting Google AdWords for Free
There is no way to “trick” or cheat Google out of their click charges. These sites say you can get “free” clicks by simply using Adwords to sell products and then using some of the profit to pay for the clicks. Wow! That’s a real original idea! They simply are selling you a twisted description of using your profits to pay for the clicks. This is a total waste of money.
Envelope Stuffing
Why would anyone pay you to “stuff” envelopes when they have machines to do that?
These are all best avoided.
Enough said.
